في واقعة مؤلمة هزّت محافظة تشاناك كالي شمال غربي تركيا، تحوّلت فرحة زواج منتظرة إلى كارثة إنسانية، بعدما أقدم رجل تركي خمسيني على إنهاء حياته عقب هروب عروس ابنه الجزائرية بالمال والذهب الذي خصصته العائلة لإتمام الزواج.
وفي تفاصيل الحادثة التي كشفت عنها عائلة غوموش سوي، عُثر على الأب رمضان مشنوقاً داخل منزله، بعد أيام من دخوله في حالة اكتئاب حاد جرّاء الصدمة التي تعرّض لها. فالعروس التي وافقت على الزواج من ابنه معمر -الذي يعاني من اضطراب نفسي- اختفت بشكل مفاجئ حاملة معها نحو 500 ألف ليرة تركية (قرابة 12 ألف دولار) إضافة إلى الذهب الذي اشتراه أهل العريس.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام تركية، وصلت العروس إلى تركيا عبر وسطاء متخصصين في ترتيب الزواج من أجنبيات، لتكتشف العائلة أن العروس هربت بالمال والذهب، وأنهم وقعوا ضحية خداع.
وأدى هروب الزوجة إلى إصابة الأب بحزن شديد، خصوصاً أنه كان يعمل مع زوجته في متجر للمفروشات، وتحمّل ديوناً مالية كبيرة لإتمام زواج ابنه قبل أن يخسر المال وحلمه في تأمين الزواج.
باشرت النيابة العامة في المنطقة التحقيق في قضية العروس الهاربة وانتحار والد الزوج، دون أن يتضح حتى الآن مكان وجود الزوجة، أو ما إذا كانت قد غادرت تركيا.
In a heartbreaking incident that shook the Çanakkale province in northwestern Turkey, the joy of an anticipated wedding turned into a humanitarian disaster after a Turkish man in his fifties took his own life following the escape of his son's Algerian bride with the money and gold that the family had set aside for the wedding.
In the details of the incident revealed by the Gümüşsoy family, the father, Ramadan, was found hanged inside his home, days after he had entered a state of severe depression due to the shock he experienced. The bride, who had agreed to marry his son Muammer - who suffers from a mental disorder - suddenly disappeared, taking with her about 500,000 Turkish lira (around 12,000 dollars) in addition to the gold that the groom's family had purchased.
According to Turkish media, the bride arrived in Turkey through intermediaries specializing in arranging marriages with foreign women, only for the family to discover that the bride had fled with the money and gold, and that they had fallen victim to a scam.
The wife's escape caused the father to suffer from deep sorrow, especially since he had been working with his wife in a furniture store and had incurred significant debts to complete his son's wedding before losing both the money and his dream of securing the marriage.
The public prosecutor's office in the area has begun investigating the case of the runaway bride and the suicide of the groom's father, with the whereabouts of the wife still unclear, or whether she has left Turkey.
