أصيب مجتمع ولاية فلوريدا الأمريكية بصدمة كبيرة بعد اكتشاف مقتل الفتاة دانكا جايد تروي، البالغة من العمر 14 عاماً، بطريقة مروعة على يد زميلين لها في المدرسة. فقد اختفت الفتاة عن منزلها في مجتمع بيس قرب الحدود مع ألاباما، قبل أن تكشف السلطات لاحقاً أنها قُتلت بالرصاص وأُحرقت في جريمة هزّت المنطقة.

أظهرت التحقيقات أن دانكا كانت تحمل سكوترها الكهربائي حين استدرجها الفتيان، أحدهما عمره 16 عاماً والآخر 14 عاماً، إلى منطقة غابات قريبة من المدرسة. وهناك، استولى الفتى الأكبر على سلاح والدته وأطلق النار على الفتاة عدة مرات قبل أن يشعلوا النار في جسدها، وفق ما صرح به شريف مقاطعة سانتا روزا بوب جونسون.

وجرى العثور على جسد الفتاة المحروق والمليء بالرصاص على يد أحد المارة الذي أبلغ الشرطة فوراً. وتستمر التحقيقات لكشف دوافع الجريمة، خصوصاً أن الفتيان كانا أصدقاء للضحية في المدرسة.

وبدورها، اعتقلت الشرطة الطالبين، ووجهت لهما تهمة القتل العمد من الدرجة الأولى، مع إمكانية محاكمتهما كأشخاص بالغين، رغم كونهما قاصرين. ويُحتجز الفتيان حالياً في إدارة العدالة الخاصة بالقصر، ولم يُكشف بعد المحامين المكلفين بالدفاع عنهم.

وأُطلقت حملة على موقع «GoFundMe» لدعم عائلة الفتاة في تغطية تكاليف الجنازة، وتمكنت الحملة من جمع أكثر من 5,500 دولار حتى الآن، في لفتة إنسانية للتخفيف عن الأسرة المكلومة وسط الحزن والألم.

The community of Florida, USA, was left in shock after the discovery of the horrific murder of 14-year-old Danka Jade Troy at the hands of two schoolmates. The girl had gone missing from her home in the community of Pace near the Alabama border, before authorities later revealed that she was shot and burned in a crime that shook the area.

Investigations showed that Danka was riding her scooter when the boys, one aged 16 and the other 14, lured her to a wooded area near the school. There, the older boy seized his mother's gun and shot the girl multiple times before they set her body on fire, according to Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson.

The girl's burned and bullet-riddled body was found by a passerby who immediately reported it to the police. Investigations continue to uncover the motives behind the crime, especially since the boys were friends of the victim at school.

In turn, the police arrested the two students and charged them with first-degree murder, with the possibility of trying them as adults, despite being minors. The boys are currently being held in the juvenile justice system, and the lawyers assigned to defend them have not yet been revealed.

A campaign was launched on the "GoFundMe" website to support the girl's family in covering funeral costs, and the campaign has managed to raise over $5,500 so far, in a humanitarian gesture to ease the burden on the grieving family amidst the sorrow and pain.
