في حادثة طيران تثير القلق حول سلامة الطعام على متن الطائرات، أصيب عشرات الركاب والطاقم في رحلة تابعة لخطوط شركة الطيران الصينية China Eastern Airlines من شنغهاي إلى موسكو بأعراض تسمم غذائي حاد، بعد ساعة ونصف فقط من الإقلاع يوم الأحد.
ووفقًا لتقرير نشرته وكالة «شوت بروفيركا» الروسية، كانت الرحلة MU-511، التي انطلقت من مطار شنغهاي بو دونغ، الساعة 11:00 صباحًا بتوقيت شنغهاي، على متنها 240 راكبًا و12 عضو طاقم، وبعد ساعة ونصف، بدأ تقديم وجبة الغداء للركاب في الدرجة الاقتصادية، وخلال 30 دقيقة، أبلغ 15 راكبًا عن غثيان مفاجئ، وإسهال وقيء لدى 25 آخرين، ما أدى إلى حالة فوضى في الحمامات والممرات.
وطلب قائد الطائرة إذنًا طارئًا للهبوط في موسكو، حيث هبطت الطائرة الساعة 3:00 مساءً بتوقيت موسكو أي قبل 4 ساعات من الجدول، ونقلت سيارات الإسعاف 40 راكبًا إلى المستشفيات حيث أكد الأطباء إصابتهم بتسمم غذائي حاد، معظمها حالات خفيفة تتطلب سوائل ورعاية لساعات.
وأفاد راكب روسي، أليكسي إيفانوف، لـ«شوت بروفيركا»: «بدأت الأعراض فجأة، وشعرت بالدوار والقيء، كأن الطعام كان فاسدًا تمامًا. كان الطاقم مذهلاً، لكنهم كانوا مذعورين».
وأكدت الشركة في بيان رسمي: «نحن نتحقق من مصدر الوجبة، ونوفر تعويضًا كاملاً للمتضررين، بما في ذلك إعادة ترتيب الرحلات»، وجمدت السلطات الروسية، بالتنسيق مع إدارة الطيران المدني الصيني، شحنات الطعام من المورد الصيني، وأجرت فحوصات مخبرية للعينات المأخوذة من الطائرة.
وشركة «China Eastern Airlines»، ليست جديدة على الحوادث حيث تحطمت في مارس 2022 طائرتها Boeing 737-800 في غوانزي، ما أسفر عن مقتل 132 شخصًا، ولم يُصدر تقرير التحقيق النهائي حتى اليوم.
وفي العام الحالي سجلت الشركة تأخيرات وإلغاءات واسعة بسبب مشكلات تشغيلية، بما في ذلك 336 تأخيرًا في 7 ديسمبر وحدها، وفقًا لتقارير Travel and Tour World.
In an aviation incident raising concerns about food safety on airplanes, dozens of passengers and crew on a China Eastern Airlines flight from Shanghai to Moscow experienced acute food poisoning symptoms just an hour and a half after takeoff on Sunday.
According to a report published by the Russian agency "Shot Proverka," flight MU-511, which departed from Shanghai Pudong Airport at 11:00 AM Shanghai time, had 240 passengers and 12 crew members on board. After an hour and a half, lunch was served to the passengers in economy class, and within 30 minutes, 15 passengers reported sudden nausea, while 25 others experienced diarrhea and vomiting, leading to chaos in the bathrooms and aisles.
The captain requested an emergency landing in Moscow, where the plane landed at 3:00 PM Moscow time, four hours ahead of schedule. Ambulances transported 40 passengers to hospitals, where doctors confirmed they had suffered from acute food poisoning, most of which were mild cases requiring fluids and care for several hours.
A Russian passenger, Alexey Ivanov, told "Shot Proverka": "The symptoms started suddenly; I felt dizzy and vomited, as if the food was completely spoiled. The crew was amazing, but they were terrified."
The company confirmed in an official statement: "We are investigating the source of the meal and providing full compensation to those affected, including rearranging flights." Russian authorities, in coordination with the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration, have frozen food shipments from the Chinese supplier and conducted laboratory tests on samples taken from the aircraft.
China Eastern Airlines is not new to incidents, as its Boeing 737-800 crashed in Guangxi in March 2022, resulting in the deaths of 132 people, and the final investigation report has not been released to this day.
This year, the company has recorded widespread delays and cancellations due to operational issues, including 336 delays on December 7 alone, according to reports from Travel and Tour World.
