يترقب عشاق الظواهر الفلكية حول العالم اليوم (الخميس) ظهور آخر قمر عملاق في عام 2025.
القمر البارد
ويُعد هذا القمر آخر بدر مكتمل في السنة، ويحمل اسم (القمر البارد) (Cold Moon) نظراً لارتباطه ببداية الليالي الطويلة والباردة في فصل الشتاء، ويتوقع أن يبدو أكثر سطوعاً وضخامة، وخصوصاً عند لحظات ظهوره الأولى فوق الأفق، نتيجة ظاهرة (وهم القمر) التي تجعله يبدو أكبر حجماً.
وقمر البارد أعلى بدر في سماء نصف الكرة الشمالي خلال عام 2025، كما يمثل البدر الثاني عشر والأخير في العام، ويشير الخبراء إلى أن السنة الشمسية تبلغ نحو 365.24 يوماً مقابل 354.37 يوماً في السنة القمرية، ما يؤدي أحياناً إلى ظهور 13 بدراً في عام واحد كما حدث آخر مرة في 2023 وسيتكرر في 2028.
وترتبط تسمية القمر البارد بتقاليد فولكلورية أمريكية تعود إلى السكان الأصليين، الذين كانوا يربطون أسماء الأقمار بالفصول والتغيرات الطبيعية التي تميز كل شهر.
القمر العملاق
ويُستخدم مصطلح «القمر العملاق» لوصف البدر الذي يقترب من الأرض عند أقرب نقطة في مداره، ما يمنحه حجماً ظاهرياً أكبر ووهجاً أشد مقارنة بالأقمار المكتملة المعتادة ويجعله يظهر أكبر بنحو 14% مقارنةً بحجمه عند أبعد نقطة عن الأرض، ويزيد من تأثير الجاذبية القمرية على المدّ البحري، رغم أن الفوارق ليست كبيرة.

The Cold Moon
This moon is the last full moon of the year and is named the "Cold Moon" due to its association with the beginning of long, cold nights in winter. It is expected to appear brighter and larger, especially during its initial moments above the horizon, due to the phenomenon known as the "moon illusion," which makes it seem larger in size.
The Cold Moon is the highest full moon in the sky of the Northern Hemisphere during 2025, and it represents the twelfth and final full moon of the year. Experts note that the solar year is about 365.24 days long compared to 354.37 days in the lunar year, which sometimes leads to the occurrence of 13 full moons in one year, as happened last in 2023 and will repeat in 2028.
The name "Cold Moon" is linked to American folkloric traditions that date back to Indigenous peoples, who associated the names of moons with the seasons and natural changes that characterize each month.
The Supermoon
The term "supermoon" is used to describe a full moon that is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit, giving it a larger apparent size and a brighter glow compared to typical full moons. It appears about 14% larger than its size at its farthest point from Earth and increases the lunar gravitational effect on ocean tides, although the differences are not significant.
