أثار المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر في بطولة كأس العرب 2025 حلمي طولان جدلاً واسعاً بعد نشر رسائل عبر حسابه على موقع «فيس بوك»، وذلك عقب خروج المنتخب من دور المجموعات.
وكتب طولان رداً على الهجوم ضده: «لست أنا من يحتاج إلى تأديب وتهذيب، والكل يعلم من هو في حاجة إلى ذلك».
وأضاف: «لن تستطيعوا إرهابي، فأنا في حماية رئيس جمهورية مصر العربية، وأطلب مقابلته».
سبب اعتذار حسام حسن.. وتولي طولان
وكان المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر الأول حسام حسن قد اعتذر عن المشاركة في كأس العرب 2025 المقامة في قطر، بسبب ارتباطه بالتحضير لبطولة كأس الأمم الأفريقية التي ستُقام في المغرب خلال الفترة من 21 ديسمبر الجاري حتى 18 يناير القادم.
وبناءً على ذلك، قرر الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم إسناد مهمة قيادة المنتخب في كأس العرب إلى عضو اللجنة الفنية حلمي طولان، مع الاعتماد على مجموعة من اللاعبين من الصف الثاني.
نتائج مخيبة وردود فعل غاضبة
وقدم المنتخب المصري أداءً ضعيفاً في البطولة، إذ تعادل بصعوبة أمام الكويت والإمارات بنتيجة (1-1)، قبل أن يتلقى خسارة قاسية أمام الأردن بـ3 أهداف دون رد في الجولة الثالثة.
وأثارت النتائج غضب الجماهير ووسائل الإعلام، التي شنت هجوماً لاذعاً على اتحاد الكرة والجهاز الفني للمنتخب واللاعبين.
The head coach of the Egyptian national team in the 2025 Arab Cup, Helmy Toulan, sparked widespread controversy after posting messages on his Facebook account, following the team's exit from the group stage.
Toulan wrote in response to the attacks against him: "I am not the one who needs discipline and refinement, and everyone knows who is in need of that."
He added: "You will not be able to intimidate me, for I am under the protection of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and I request to meet him."
The reason for Hossam Hassan's apology and Toulan's appointment
The head coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, had apologized for participating in the 2025 Arab Cup held in Qatar, due to his commitment to preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Morocco from December 21 to January 18.
As a result, the Egyptian Football Association decided to assign the task of leading the team in the Arab Cup to technical committee member Helmy Toulan, relying on a group of second-tier players.
Disappointing results and angry reactions
The Egyptian team delivered a weak performance in the tournament, as they barely drew against Kuwait and the UAE with a score of (1-1), before suffering a heavy defeat against Jordan by three goals to none in the third round.
The results sparked anger among fans and the media, which launched a scathing attack on the Football Association, the coaching staff, and the players.
