في خطوة قد تُعيد رسم معايير السلامة في عدد من أبرز الصناعات العالمية، كشف باحثون في جامعة فولغوغراد التقنية الروسية ابتكار مادة مركبة جديدة تتمتع بمقاومة عالية للاشتعال، على نحو يتجاوز قدرات المواد التقليدية. هذا التطوّر، الذي قد يغيّر قواعد اللعبة في مجالات الطيران والبناء والسيارات والإلكترونيات، يَعِد بخفض قابلية الاحتراق بمقدار يصل إلى 5 أضعاف، كل ذلك مع الحفاظ على الخصائص الميكانيكية الأساسية للمادة. ويعود الفضل في هذا الإنجاز إلى إضافة كيميائية مبتكرة تجمع بين 3 عناصر تعمل بتآزر واضح لإخماد اللهب، في محاولة ناجحة لتجاوز العيوب الجوهرية التي تعاني منها المواد المعتمدة على بوليمرات الإيبوكسي.
وأشارت الدراسة إلى أن هذه التركيبة تعتمد على أملاح النحاس والأمونيوم المذابة في حمض الفوسفور، بحيث يثبط النحاس اللهب عبر آلية تحفيزية، ويكوّن الفوسفور طبقة كربونية واقية تمنع انتشار النار، فيما يطلق النيتروجين غازات غير قابلة للاشتعال تحدّ من الاشتعال.
وبحسب الدكتور سيرغي بوريسوف، فإن المادة لا تعمل فقط كحشو ميكانيكي، بل تتفاعل كيميائياً مع الراتنج لتشكيل بنية بلورية جديدة داخل المركب، ما يزيد من فعاليتها حتى عند إضافتها بنسبة منخفضة تصل إلى 8%.
كما أشار الفريق إلى أن الابتكار يسهم في تحسين لزوجة الراتنج، ما يسهّل عملية تصنيعه ومعالجته، بعكس العديد من المواد المضافة التقليدية التي تحد من تدفق الراتنج.

This development, which could change the game in aviation, construction, automotive, and electronics fields, promises to reduce flammability by up to 5 times, all while maintaining the basic mechanical properties of the material. This achievement is attributed to an innovative chemical addition that combines 3 elements working synergistically to extinguish flames, in a successful attempt to overcome the inherent flaws found in epoxy-based polymer materials.
The study indicated that this formulation relies on copper and ammonium salts dissolved in phosphoric acid, where copper suppresses flames through a catalytic mechanism, and phosphorus forms a protective carbon layer that prevents the spread of fire, while nitrogen releases non-flammable gases that limit ignition.
According to Dr. Sergey Borisov, the material not only acts as a mechanical filler but also chemically interacts with the resin to form a new crystalline structure within the composite, enhancing its effectiveness even when added at a low percentage of up to 8%.
The team also noted that the innovation helps improve the viscosity of the resin, facilitating its manufacturing and processing, unlike many traditional additives that restrict resin flow.
