تُوفي الممثل الأمريكي بيتر غرين، المعروف بأدواره الشريرة في أفلام مثل «بالب فيكشن» و«ذا ماسك»، عن عمر يناهز 60 عاماً، وعُثر على جثته في شقته بمنطقة لور إيست سايد في مانهاتن مساء الجمعة، حسبما أكد مديره غريغ إدواردز لعدة وسائل إعلام.
وفاة داخل شقته
لم يُكشف عن سبب الوفاة حتى الآن، وأفادت الشرطة بأنه لا توجد شبهة جنائية، وجاء اكتشاف الجثة بعد شكوى جيران من سماع موسيقى عيد الميلاد بصوت عالٍ لأكثر من 24 ساعة، ما دفع إلى فحص صحي.

اشتهر غرين بأدوار الأشرار البارزة، خصوصاً دوره «زيد» الحارس الأمني المتوحش في فيلم كوينتين تارانتينو «بالب فيكشن» عام 1994، ودور «دوريان» زعيم المافيا في فيلم «ذا ماسك» بطولة جيم كاري في العام نفسه.
ونعاه مديره إدواردز قائلاً لـNBC News: «لم يلعب أحد دور الشرير أفضل من بيتر، لكنه كان يمتلك جانباً رقيقاً لم يره معظم الناس، وقلباً كبيراً كالذهب»، وأضاف: «كان رجلاً رائعاً، وواحداً من أعظم ممثلي جيله سأفتقده، كان صديقاً عظيماً».

فاز غرين بجائزة أفضل ممثل في مهرجان تاورمينا السينمائي عام 1994 عن دوره في فيلم «كلين - شيفن»، وجسد فيه شخصية مصاب بالفصام، ومن أعماله الأخرى: «ذا يوجوال ساسبكتس»، «أندر سيج 2»، «ترينينغ داي» مع دينزل واشنطن، «جودجمنت نايت»، «بلو ستريك»، و«ذا باونتي هنتر».

Greene was famous for his prominent villain roles, particularly his role as "Zed," the brutal security guard in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" in 1994, and as "Dorian," the mafia leader in "The Mask," starring Jim Carrey in the same year.
His manager Edwards mourned him, saying to NBC News: "No one played the villain better than Peter, but he had a gentle side that most people never saw, and a heart as big as gold." He added, "He was a wonderful man and one of the greatest actors of his generation. I will miss him; he was a great friend."
