مطاردة جنونية لـ«مدمن» سرق سيارة شرطة - وضوح نيوز

تحولت شوارع مدينة سياتل الأمريكية إلى مسرح فوضى حقيقية، بعدما أقدم رجل تحت تأثير المخدرات على سرقة سيارة شرطة، وملاحقتها في مطاردة خطيرة على طريق سريع مزدحم في وضح النهار، في مشهد أشبه بأفلام هوليوود.

وبحسب وسائل إعلام أمريكية، شهد طريق سريع مزدحم في مدينة سياتل يوم عيد الميلاد حادثة مروعة عندما أقدم ألكسندر يوجين سميث (24 عامًا) على سحب ضابطة برتبة ملازم أول من مقعد القيادة في سيارة دوريتها، قبل أن يستولي عليها وينطلق بها بسرعة جنونية وسط حركة المرور.

وبحسب الشرطة، كانت الضابطة قد استجابت لبلاغ عن شخص يتجول عشوائيًا على الطريق السريع قرابة الساعة 11 صباحًا، وفوجئت بالمشتبه به يقترب من سيارتها، ويفتح بابها بعنف، ويسحبها خارج المركبة، في مشهد وصفته السلطات بـ«الصادم والخطر».

وأظهرت لقطات مصورة الرجل وهو يسير وسط السيارات المسرعة قبل أن يقتحم سيارة الشرطة، بينما تحاول الضابطة التشبث بالباب المغلق. وعلى الفور، انطلقت عدة دوريات لمطاردته، وتمكنت لاحقًا من محاصرة السيارة المسروقة وإيقافها على جانب الطريق، ما أسفر عن إصابة الضابطة بجروح طفيفة وتضرر عدة سيارات شرطة.

وخلال توقيفه، اعترف سميث بتعاطي مادة الميثامفيتامين، وعُثر بحوزته على أنبوبين زجاجيين يحتويان على بقايا محترقة يُشتبه بأنها مخدرات. ووجهت له السلطات تهمًا تشمل السطو، والفرار الجنائي، وحيازة مركبة مسروقة، والاعتداء على رجل أمن، والقيادة تحت تأثير المخدرات.

وأكدت الشرطة أن المتهم رفض المثول أمام المحكمة خلال جلسة توجيه الاتهام، على أن يُعاد عرضه على القضاء لاحقًا.

According to American media, a horrific incident occurred on a busy highway in Seattle on Christmas Day when Alexander Eugene Smith (24 years old) pulled a female officer with the rank of first lieutenant from the driver's seat of her patrol car, before seizing it and speeding away recklessly amidst traffic.

According to the police, the officer had responded to a report of a person wandering randomly on the highway around 11 AM, and was surprised when the suspect approached her vehicle, violently opened the door, and pulled her out of the vehicle, in a scene described by authorities as "shocking and dangerous."

Footage showed the man walking among speeding cars before breaking into the police car, while the officer tried to cling to the closed door. Immediately, several patrols were dispatched to chase him, and they later managed to corner the stolen vehicle and stop it on the side of the road, resulting in the officer sustaining minor injuries and several police cars being damaged.

During his arrest, Smith admitted to using methamphetamine, and two glass pipes containing burnt residue suspected to be drugs were found in his possession. Authorities charged him with offenses including robbery, felony evasion, possession of a stolen vehicle, assault on a law enforcement officer, and driving under the influence of drugs.

The police confirmed that the accused refused to appear in court during the arraignment session, and he will be brought back to court later.
