التحقيقات تكشف المستور
وكشف التحقيق أكثر من 25 ألف صورة وفيديو إباحي، بعضها تم تصويره باستخدام أجهزة iPad تابعة للحضانة أثناء فترات القيلولة، مع إضافة موسيقى وتأثيرات كوميدية لإخفاء الجرائم أو مشاركتها مع زملائه كـ«مزاح».

According to details of the case that caused widespread shock in London, the victims (four girls aged between two and four years) were assaulted within the walls of the Bright Horizons nursery in West Hampstead, North West London, where Chan worked from 2017 until his arrest in 2024.

Investigations Uncover the Truth
The investigation uncovered more than 25,000 pornographic images and videos, some filmed using nursery iPads during nap times, with added music and comedic effects to conceal the crimes or share them with colleagues as "jokes."
The case began with a shocking report in May 2024, when a nursery staff member informed authorities that Chan had filmed a child dozing off into their food using a nursery device, then added humorous music and shared the video with colleagues for entertainment purposes.
This report led to an initial arrest in June 2024 on charges of neglect, and the seizure of 25 electronic devices from Chan's home and three from the nursery. However, a subsequent investigation, which extended into September, revealed "extremely disturbing material," including videos showing Chan committing the sexual assaults live, leading to a second arrest and the total seizure of 69 devices.
Closure of Nursery Branches
The nursery closed its branch following the revelations, and the NSPCC launched a hotline to support 700 families whose children attended the nursery during Chan's employment.
The lead investigator, Executive Director Louis Pasford, described the crimes as one of the most heinous offenses imaginable, noting that they reveal a calculated and predatory pattern of criminal behavior that lasted for years, adding that Chan exploited his position in the nursery to commit these horrific crimes against very young girls.
