عبَّر عدد من النقاد الرياضيين عن سعادتهم بخطف المنتخب السعودي بطاقة التأهل إلى الدور نصف النهائي من بطولة كأس العرب، بعد فوزه على نظيره الفلسطيني بنتيجة (2-1)، في مواجهة حافلة بالندية التي جمعتهما على استاد لوسيل، وذلك عبر حساباتهم الرسمية في «X». في البداية قال الإعلامي عدنان جستنية: «ألف مليون مبروك لمنتخبنا الوطني.. فوز وتأهل مستحق، ومبروك للمنتخب الفلسطيني، وإن خسر إلاّ أنه قدم مباراة كبيرة»، فيما وصف اللاعب المخضرم «فهد الهريفي» فوز الأخضر بالصعب وجاء بشق الأنفس، وقال: «ألف مبروك يا منتخبنا.. بشق الأنفس»، وقال الناقد الرياضي صالح أبو نخاع: «فوزٌ أخضر أسعدنا. ألف مبروك للوطن. ادعموا ممثلنا ولا زلنا في الميدان»، وأضاف

الكاتب علي الزهراني: «مبروك لنجوم منتخبنا الوطني الفوز الصعب على المنتخب الفلسطيني الشقيق»، وأضاف: «صحيح أن المستوى الفني لم يكن مقنعاً، ولكن التأهل في مثل هذه المواجهات هو الأهم، ونتمنى إكمال المشوار وتحقيق كأس العرب»، واختتم مقدم برنامج المجلس خالد جاسم التغريدات بقوله: «منتخب السعودية عنيد، ومنتخب فلسطين محترم وثقيل»، وأضاف: «من قلبي يستاهل الأخضر السعودي الفوز المستحق، والقادم أفضل إلى محبي فلسطين».
